J. S. BUGG was born in Fredonia District January 15, 1848, and is a son G. H. and Mary J. (Lowry) Bugg. J. S. is the second in a family of eleven children, of whom nine are now living. He remained at home with his father until 1877, then came to Fredonia, where he opened a drug store. In the winter of 1881-82, he attended the College of Pharmacy at St. Louis. Returning to Fredonia, he reopened the drug store and has since followed the business, carrying a stock of about $3,000. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity.
