Mrs. Dora McConnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jorden Brantley, was born February 28, 1860. She was 64 years and five months old. She died July 24, 1924. She professed faith in Christ in 1872 and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Sugar Grove in 1873, where she lived a true and faithful member until God said it is enough, come up higher. She was married to Jim McConnell November 6, 1880.

To this union was born six children. They are: Elmer, of Wyoming; Press and Jim, Mrs. Mable Hopkins, Mrs. Lura Sutton, all of this county; Cole of Missouri; one brother, Seldon, Kan., one sister of this county.

Mrs McConnell was a noble character, a home builder, a good mother and a splendid neighbor. The funeral as conducted by Rev. W, T. Oakley at Sugar Grove in the presence of a large congregation. The floral offering was pretty and abundant. W. T. OAKLEY
