She is listed as age 67, born August 1832, father (Ignatius, Sr.) born in GA, mother (Mirie Cockram) born in Illinois. Death register, Book 2, 1902-1910, lists death of Winnie Atchison at 1:00 am on March 25, 1904 from Bright's disease. She was 70 years, 7 months, and 1 day old. Her birth date calculated from age here would be August 24, 1833.

    Winnie married John Toney 11 Oct 1850, Jefferson Co., IL. John was born 26 Jun 1831; died 16 Dec 1858. [Group Sheet]

    [Broderbund WFT Vol. 7, Ed. 1, Tree #0129, Date of Import: 25 Jul, 1998] Ignatius Atchison, Sr. was commissioned 1st Lt. of Jefferson Co. Battalion of Illinois Militia on April 18, 1826 (Exec Record 1818-1832 Vol 1, p 127.) Philadelphia Hopper died in 1860, and Ignatius remarried Mrs. Keziah Williams (History of Jeff. Co., Perrin). In Nov. 1878, Kizzie and Ignatius sold 1 acre of land for the present Ham's Grove Church to be built upon. Additional acreage sold to church in 1883 (History of Jefferson Co. 1810-1962, Historical Committee, Mt. Vernon, Il 1962). (This book spells name as Lizzie instead of Kizzie.) Buried in Williams Cemetery (N. Vernon road between the farms of Barton Atchison and James Osburn. (Laws of 1838/39, p. 57). Home on state road from Equality to Mt. Vernon (Public Laws 1839, p. 57). Nominated for Justice of the Peace for Jefferson Co. Jan 6 (p. 116); Feb. 7 (p. 305, Home Journal 1820) Petition from William Casey, Joseph Jordan, and Barton Atchison, county commissioners fro Jeff. Co., making nominations for J.P.(House Journal 1820). Commissioned J.P. Feb. 8, 1821 (exec. Record, 1818-1832 Vol 1, p. 34). Candidate for Co. Commissioner Aug 2, 1824 (Election Returns Vol 5, p 14). Petition for road relocation (Senate Jnal 1839-40 pg. 68). Barton and Prudence were buried at Rentchler Farm Cemetery (Jeff. Co. roads 1875E & 700N). Prudence's stone is still there, but Barton's was broken off and some relatives took it to Kentucky in 1983. Helen obtained info from Jack Story re/ headstone of Barton - "In Memory of Barton Atchison who was born in Maryland March 22, 1775 died November 12, 1847 aged 72 years and 7 months and 20 days." Moved to GA by 1794; to Smith Co. TN by 1810; to Jeff. CO., IL by 1817. Winnefred executrix of estate in 1807. In War of 1812 from TN. Came from Georgia to Moore's Prairie in 1816.
