Calculated birthdate from death certificate would be Sept. 13, 1866. Buried at Ham's Grove cemetery straight back. Family Bible has marriage date in 1888, while other sources say 1889. [Broderbund WFT Vol. 7, Ed. 1, Tree #0129, Date of Import: 25 Jul, 1998] Ignatius Atchison, Jr. was a farmer in Moore's Prairie Twsp. According to 1900 census, he had 4 single daughters living with him, as well as Wallis S. Estes, a 19 year old, who was a farm laborer. According to Bertha Webber, Ignatius (her grandfather) had been ill and was standing in front of an open fireplace. He fell backward into the open fire and was severly burned. His son (Gaston) was returning from the store when he heard moans and found his father burned. Ignatius lived 10 days before he died on Nov. 19 at 8:00 pm. He was buried at Hams Grove cemetery straight back - old stone. 1870 Census Moore's Prairie: Ignatius 1838, Louisa 1842, Chas 1858, David 1863, Harriet 1865, Ambrose 1867, Delphia 1868, Mary 1869. Birth date calculated from age at death - 68 years, 8 months, and 5 days.

He is a farmer, she is a housewife. Value of real estate $800 and personal estate $2150. Also living with them is Hester Drenning (21) domestic, George Drenning (18) farm hand, Phebe Drenning (17) domestic, and John Martin age 4. In the 1870 census, Wayman 1831 and Nancy? 1833 are listed in Spring Garden Township, Jefferson Co., IL. Their children are listed as Walter 1861, Hester 1863, George 1866, and Sarah 1868. Someone should look at the original film of this census. R.W.S. Fryer and M. A. Drennan were married Oct. 20, 1858 by Z. Blackburn in Caldwell CO., KY. 1880 Census Spring Garden lists Friar, M A 1835, J. S. 1865, L. Battalion of Illinois Militia on April 18, 1826 (Exec Record 1818-1832 Vol 1, p 127.) Philadelphia Hopper died in 1860, and Ignatius remarried Mrs. Keziah Williams (History of Jeff. Co., Perrin). In Nov. 1878, Kizzie and Ignatius sold 1 acre of land for the present Ham's Grove Church to be built upon. Additional acreage sold to church in 1883 (History of Jefferson Co. 1810-1962, Historical Committee, Mt. Vernon, Il 1962). (This book spells name as Lizzie instead of Kizzie.) Buried in Williams Cemetery (N. In 1820, there is one male and one female listed in the 16-26? age group. There are 3 females in the under 10, and 1 male in the under 10. Also 1 male slave under 14, and 1 female slave under 14. In 1830, there is 1 male & 1 female under 5, 1 male & 1 female 5-9, 2 females 10-14, 1 female 15-19, 1 male 20-24, and 1 male & 1 female 30-39?. There are 4 male slaves under 10, and 1 male & 1 female 10-24. In 1840, there is 1 male & 1 female 5-9, 1 male 10-14, 1 male & 1 female 15-19, 1 male 20-29, and 1 male & 1 female 50-59. There are 3 male & 1 female slaves 0-5, 4 male & 1 female 6-10, and 1 male & 1 female 11-15. 8 persons are involved in agriculture. In 1850, Rezin is listed as age 63 and a farmer (value of real estate owned $1,000). With him are Richard H. age 22, farmer, Wayman R. age 20, farmer, and Elizabeth D. A. age 16. In the Caldwell County, Kentucky Court Order book, in 1829, Rezin Fryer posted bond for a William Roberts in a bastardy suit filed by Miss Teresa Stephens. Aug. term 1829 p. 22 Miss Stephens charge of bastardy against William Roberts next term - whereupon Mr. Roberts together with Rezin Frier and Coleman Brown came forward and acknowledged themselves to be held & firmly bound unto the COmmonwealth of KY in the following sums: Roberts 20 pounds and said Frier and Brown each in the sum of 10 pounds to be ?? of their respective goods and chattels, lands and tenements. p. 26 Miss Teresa Stephens vs Willima Roberts defendant - charge of bastardy p. 29 Roberts is the father of the bastard child - pay for the keeping and maintaining for the term of 6 years from this date $90 half yearly, $7.50 each 1/2 year & costs. Said Roberts give bond & security for the payment of the ?? and thereupon this Roberts together with A. W. Smith, James Smith, James H. Roberts, & Rezin Fryer his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond payable to the Commonweal of KY the penalty of $200 for the payments as above required.
