    David Allen Lowry started his married life with "Mattie" Clift in a log
    house that came from the Finis Ewing Lowry farm. He and his wife moved
    to Crittenden County, in 1905.

    In 1916 they moved to Marion.

    David Allen started out adult life as a farmer, but later went to
    Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and studied
    business. He later taught school and did census taking.
