Notes - [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #0082, Date of Import: 31 Dec 1998] William Travers of Nateby and Tulketh Castle married Dorothy Preston of Preston, Patrick, Under Levins Hall, Furness Abbey and Holkar Park, Lancashire. Her mother was Lady Ann Thornburgh, the 15th descendant from William, The Conqueror (William I, King of England). Children of this marriage were Richard, William, Thomas, Robert, Anne, Ellen, and Margaret. William died at Nateby Hall 24 July 1558, and is buried at Furness Abbey. Sixty one years after the Norman Conquest, the religious establishment at Tulketh Castle was moved to Dalton and took the name of the district, Furness Abbey. The Abbey was purchased from the Crown by Sir Thomas Preston along with other estates.
