He was Subcustos of the Peace for Amounderness in the 17th year of Edward II (1323), and was Burgess for Preston in Parliament at Westminister during the first year of Edward III (1327). He was Constable for Bromfield and Yale in 1333-34. Laurence's first wife was Elena Haydock of Ribleton who had lands in Ashton near Preston, and thereafter the family could quarter the Haydock arms. They had a son, Thomas. His second wife was Matilda Ploket by whom he had a daughter, Margaret. They were married during the 16th or 17th year of Edward III (1342-43). He died about 1347.
