    • They lived in White Co., Tenn., but moved to Coffee Co., Tenn. by 1900. Amanda kept a diary during the Civil War telling of their trials at the time. Since both brothers fought in the Civil War, Lafayette for the South & Andrew Jackson for the North, the diary is most interesting. It was published by her niece, Lela McDowell Blankenship and is titled, Fiddles in the Cumberlands.
