    [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #0082, Date of Import: 31 Dec 1998] Laurence Travers, of Nateby and Tulketh Castle, Preston, Lancashire Co. (now Lancaster Co.) England on June 24, 1287 was serving as Warden of the Hospital of B.M. Magd. at Preston, and also as a juror on the inquisition port-mortem of Adam de Preston. He married the daughter of Orme de Kellet. They had two sons, Laurence and Thomas. The elder son, Laurence, in the 21st year of Edward I, (about 1296) deeded to his younger brother, Thomas, all his land and title, and entered a monastery thus leaving Thomas as heir upon their father's death.     [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #0082, Date of Import: 31 Dec 1998] Thomas Travers of Nateby and Tulketh Castle came of age before the 56th year of Henry II (1272). He was Coroner for Furness about 1292. He was Knight of the Shire for Lancashire in the 29th year of Edward I (about 1300). He was High Sheriff of Lancashire in the 30th to 33rd years of Edward I (1301-1303). He was Colector of Scutages for County Lancashire during the 8th year of Edward II (1314), and was in the Commission for the Peace for Lancashire in 1320. He was also keeper of the Forests of Lancaster and Amounderness. He married as his first wife, Isabel Nateby, daughter of Sir William Nateby, a Knight, and there after the family quartered the Nateby Arms.     [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #0082, Date of Import: 31 Dec 1998] Laurence Travers of Nateby and Tulketh Castle was an adherent of Thomas, Earl of Caster, in the 12 year of Edward II (1318). He was Subcustos of the Peace for Amounderness in the 17th year of Edward II (1323), and was Burgess for Preston in Parliament at Westminister during the first year of Edward III (1327). He was Constable for Bromfield and Yale in 1333-34. Laurence's first wife was Elena Haydock of Ribleton who had lands in Ashton near Preston, and thereafter the family could quarter the Haydock arms. They had a son, Thomas. His second wife was Matilda Ploket by whom he had a daughter, Margaret. They were married during the 16th or 17th year of Edward III (1342-43). He died about 1347.     [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #0082, Date of Import: 31 Dec 1998] Thomas Travers of Nateby and Tulketh Castle married Eleanor Ashton, daughter of Gilbert de Ashton from a distinguished family of Ashton-under-Lyne in Lancashire County (now Lancaster Co.) which was founded by Orme Fitz Edward. Afterwards the family had the right to quarter the Ashton Arms. They were living at Tulketh Castle during the 37th year of Edward III (1363-64).
